Illegal Immigration in a Nutshell.

“If you had tickets to a sports event, concert, Disneyland , or for an airline flight, and when you got to your assigned seat you found someone else was in that seat, what would you do? You would call for a person in charge of ticket checking and have the person in your seat removed. You would properly be asked to show your ticket, and you would gladly and proudly do so, for you have bought and paid for that seat. The person in your seat would also be asked for a ticket, which they would not be able to produce. They would be called “gate crashers” and they would properly be removed.

Now in this huge stadium called the USA we have had millions of gate crashers. We have been asking security to check for tickets and remove the gate crashers. We have been asking security to have better controls in checking at the door. We have asked security to lock the back doors. Security has failed us. They are still looking the other way. They are afraid to ask to see the tickets. Many people say there is unlimited seating, and whether there is or not, no one should be allowed in for free while the rest of us pay full price!

In “section AZ”, of “Stadium USA “, we have had enough of the failures of Security. We have decided to do our own ticket checking, and properly remove those who do not have tickets. Now it seems very strange to me that so many people in the other 49 “sections”, and even many in our own “section” do not want tickets checked, or even to be asked to show their ticket! Even the head of Security is chastising us, while not doing his own job which he has sworn to do.

My own ticket has been bought and paid for, so I am proudly going to show it when asked to do so. I have a right to my seat, and I want the gate crashers to be asked to show their tickets too. The only reason that I can imagine anyone objecting to being asked for their ticket is that they are in favor of gate crashing, and all of the illegal activities that go with it, such as drug smuggling, gang wars, murder, human smuggling for profit, and many more illegal and inhumane acts that we are trying to prevent with our new legislation. Is that what I am hearing from all of the protestors such as Phoenix Mayor Gordon, US Rep. Grijalva, even President Obama? If you are not in favor of showing tickets, (proof of citizenship, passport, green card, or other legal document) when asked, as I would do proudly, then you must be condoning those illegal activities.”

I hope you Vote this November.

Forecast: Blood on the Streets

If the king decrees that all illegals will be granted amnesty, I can assure you that America will not go quietly. If you recall the last time partial amnesty was broached under the Bush administration (when both parties actually worked together), millions took to the streets and voted it down — and that was before the phenomenon known as the “tea parties.”

It is increasingly clear that the most divisive President in history is itching for a civil war. And at the rate he is going, he is going to get one — if he continues to ignore the will of the American people.

Is “Emperor” Obama Poised to Grant Illegal Immigrant Amnesty by Executive Order? Yid with Lid The rumor swirling around the Beltway is that once again the President is poised to go against the will of the American people, this time on Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants. All polls show that American citizens want the government find a way protect the US borders before dealing with the illegal immigrants already in the country.

This time according to the scuttlebutt, unlike the health care bill, Obama does not have the Congressional votes to shove his policy down the throats of America, so he will go around Congress and the American people and issue an executive order granting amnesty to the 12 million potential DEMOCRATIC Party Voters Illegal Immigrants in the United States.

The rumor is so fierce that earlier this week Senator Grassley and Sens. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah; Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga.; David Vitter, R-La.; Jim Bunning, R-Ky.; James Inhofe, R-Okla.; Thad Cochran, R-Miss.; and Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., signed a letter to the President saying:

We understand that there’s a push for your Administration to develop a plan to unilaterally extend either deferred action or parole to millions of illegal aliens in the United States. We understand that the Administration may include aliens who have willfully overstayed their visas or filed for benefits knowing that they will not be eligible for a status for years to come. We understand that deferred action and parole are discretionary actions reserved for individual cases that present unusual, emergent or humanitarian circumstances. Deferred action and parole were not intended to be used to confer a status or offer protection to large groups of illegal aliens, even if the agency claims that they look at each case on a “case-by-case” basis.

While we agree our immigration laws need to be fixed, we are deeply concerned about the potential expansion of deferred action or parole for a large illegal alien population. While deferred action and parole are Executive Branch authorities, they should not be used to circumvent Congress’ constitutional authority to legislate immigration policy, particularly as it relates to the illegal population in the United States.

Why would the president make this move when such a vast majority of Americans would be against it?  Probably the best explanation could be given in this video published on this site before featuring SEIU Vice President Eliseo Medina, who explained that granting citizenship to millions of illegal aliens would expand the “progressive” electorate and help ensure a “progressive” governing coalition for the long term.

“We reform the immigration laws, it puts 12 million people on the path to citizenship and eventually voters,” Medina said during his speech at a June 2009 Washington conference for the liberal America’s Future Now!

Medina said that during the presidential election in November 2008, Latinos and immigrants “voted overwhelmingly for progressive candidates. Barack Obama got two out of every three voters that showed up.”

“Can you imagine if we have, even the same ratio, two out of three? Can you imagine 8 million new voters who care about our issues and will be voting? We will be creating a governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle.”

Oil Industry Experts Suspect Possible Nightmare Scenario: Well Bore Structure Is Compromised “Down Hole”

In a message dated 6/24/2010 09:46:45 Eastern Standard Time, writes:

Oil Industry Experts Suspect Possible Nightmare Scenario: Well Bore Structure Is Compromised “Down Hole”

Posted by Jim Hoft on Wednesday, June 23, 2010

The Oil Drum is a widely respected website that focuses exclusively on the international oil industry and energy issues. Earlier this week a reader and industry insider sent this article posted on The Oil Drum.
The article suggests that the well bore structure may be compromised “down hole.” If this is true, it turns this “Very Serious Situation” into an absolute nightmare.
Dave wrote in with this:

I work in the oil exploration business – and I don’t scare easily when it comes to the rumors that circulate re: the Deepwater Horizon incident – but this article is downright horrific.
I can’t comment about how accurate it might be – the guy paints a fairly plausible picture – but it is something right out of a science-fiction horror movie – nobody (not even the author) wants to talk about what might really be needed here to stop this runaway well – and that might be a nuclear device detonation downhole to seal the wellbore.
Meanwhile, Obama golfs, vacations, and sings with Paul McCartney –
I don’t know if either BP or the government is telling the public just how bad this might become – possibly for fear of starting some sort of panic – and Obama is clueless – and so, for that matter is Salazar — I went to college with this guy – and he is totally an affirmative action baby, a complete idiot — now elevated to a position way, way, way, way beyond his competency level.

Here is that article from The Oil Drum:

OK let’s get real about the GOM oil flow. There doesn’t really seem to be much info on TOD that furthers more complete understanding of what’s really happening in the GOM.
As you have probably seen and maybe feel yourselves, there are several things that do not appear to make sense regarding the actions of attack against the well. Don’t feel bad, there is much that doesn’t make sense even to professionals unless you take into account some important variables that we are not being told about. There seems to me to be a reluctance to face what cannot be termed anything less than grim circumstances in my opinion. There certainly is a reluctance to inform us regular people and all we have really gotten is a few dots here and there…
First of all…set aside all your thoughts of plugging the well and stopping it from blowing out oil using any method from the top down. Plugs, big valves to just shut it off, pinching the pipe closed, installing a new bop or lmrp, shooting any epoxy in it, top kills with mud etc etc etc….forget that, it won’t be’s done and over. In fact actually opening up the well at the subsea source and allowing it to gush more is not only exactly what has happened, it was probably necessary, or so they think anyway.
So you have to ask WHY? Why make it worse?…there really can only be one answer and that answer does not bode well for all of us. It’s really an inescapable conclusion at this point, unless you want to believe that every Oil and Gas professional involved suddenly just forgot everything they know or woke up one morning and drank a few big cups of stupid and got assigned to directing the response to this catastrophe. Nothing makes sense unless you take this into account, but after you do…you will see the “sense” behind what has happened and what is happening. That conclusion is this:

The well bore structure is compromised “Down hole”.
That is something which is a “Worst nightmare” conclusion to reach. While many have been saying this for some time as with any complex disaster of this proportion many have “said” a lot of things with no real sound reasons or evidence for jumping to such conclusions, well this time it appears that they may have jumped into the right place…
This was probably our best and only chance to kill this well from the top down. This “kill mud” is a tried and true method of killing wells and usually has a very good chance of success. The depth of this well presented some logistical challenges, but it really should not of presented any functional obstructions. The pumping capacity was there and it would have worked, should have worked, but it didn’t.
It didn’t work, but it did create evidence of what is really happening. First of all the method used in this particular top kill made no sense, did not follow the standard operating procedure used to kill many other wells and in fact for the most part was completely contrary to the procedure which would have given it any real chance of working.
When a well is “Killed” using this method heavy drill fluid “Mud” is pumped at high volume and pressure into a leaking well. The leaks are “behind” the point of access where the mud is fired in, in this case the “choke and Kill lines” which are at the very bottom of the BOP (Blow Out Preventer) The heavy fluid gathers in the “behind” portion of the leaking well assembly, while some will leak out, it very quickly overtakes the flow of oil and only the heavier mud will leak out. Once that “solid” flow of mud is established at the leak “behind” the well, the mud pumps increase pressure and begin to overtake the pressure of the oil deposit. The mud is established in a solid column that is driven downward by the now stronger pumps. The heavy mud will create a solid column that is so heavy that the oil deposit can no longer push it up, shut off the pumps…the well is killed…it can no longer flow.

Usually this will happen fairly quickly, in fact for it to work at all…it must happen quickly. There is no “trickle some mud in” because that is not how a top kill works. The flowing oil will just flush out the trickle and a solid column will never be established. Yet what we were told was “It will take days to know whether it
worked”….”Top kill might take 48 hours to complete”…the only way it could take days is if BP intended to do some “test fires” to test integrity of the entire system. The actual “kill” can only take hours by nature because it must happen fairly rapidly. It also increases strain on the “behind” portion and in this instance we all know that what remained was fragile at best.
Early that afternoon we saw a massive flow burst out of the riser “plume” area. This was the first test fire of high pressure mud injection. Later on same day we saw a greatly increased flow out of the kink leaks, this was mostly mud at that time as the kill mud is tanish color due to the high amount of Barite which is added to it to weight it and Barite is a white powder.
We later learned the pumping was shut down at midnight, we weren’t told about that until almost 16 hours later, but by then…I’m sure BP had learned the worst. The mud they were pumping in was not only leaking out the “behind” leaks…it was leaking out of someplace forward…and since they were not even near being able to pump mud into the deposit itself, because the well would be dead long before…and the oil was still coming up, there could only be one conclusion…the wells casings were ruptured and it was leaking down hole…

There’s more at The Oil Drum.
Let’s Hope and Pray this is Not the Case!

Unreal. Determined to Destroy Gulf Coast Feds Shut Down Sand Berm Dredging!

Posted by Jim Hoft on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, 6:14 AM

The Obama Administration continues to act as if they want the Gulf oil spill to destroy as much of the coastline as possible.
– They have only accepted assistance from 5 of 28 countries.
– It took the Obama Administration 53 days to accept help from the Dutch and British.
– It took 58 days to mobilize the US military to the Gulf.
– They shut down crude-sucking barges due to fire extinguisher concerns.
– They ignore oil boom manufacturers that have miles of product stockpiled in their warehouses.
– They only have moved 5 of 2,000 oil skimmers to the disaster area off of Florida.
– The president continues to hit the golf course, ball games, hold BBQ’s and party while the coast drowns in oil.
And, now the feds are shutting down the sand berm dredging off of the Louisiana coast.
WDSU reported:

More from WDSU:

The federal government is shutting down the dredging that was being done to create protective sand berms in the Gulf of Mexico.
The berms are meant to protect the Louisiana coastline from oil. But the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department has concerns about where the dredging is being done.
Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser, who was one of the most vocal advocates of the dredging plan, has sent a letter to President Barack Obama, pleading for the work to continue.

This is Not Just Illogical, it is Criminal!

Senate Democrats, unable to garner the 60 votes needed to pass legislation that included the “doc fix”, instead extracted the provision and passed it as a separate bill.

The amended version of H.R. 3962, now called the “Preservation of Access to Care for Medicare Beneficiaries and Pension Relief Act of 2010,” would prevent a 21 percent cut in rates paid to physicians who treat Medicare/TRICARE patients but only through November 30, 2010.  It would also increase the rates by 2.2 percent.

The 21 percent payment cut, which is a result of flaws in Medicare’s physician payment formula, the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) formula, took effect June 1.  The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services placed a temporary hold on Medicare reimbursement claims processing to delay implementing the reduced doctor payments.  Unfortunately, the agency was forced to begin processing Medicare claims with the 21 percent payment cut on June 18 in order to reimburse doctors’ offices for their services.  They are saying they will quickly process retroactive payments if the bill becomes law.

If it becomes law depends on what action the House takes when they reconvene June 22.  In a statement released late last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blasted the Senate’s plan as “inadequate” and deemed the measure dead on arrival.  “I see no reason to pass this inadequate bill until we see jobs legislation coming out of the Senate.”  She was referring to the original legislation that would have extended expired middle-class tax breaks and jobless benefits and included a longer extension for the “doc fix” – 19 months instead of six months.

While we want Congress to find a permanent solution to this problem, our immediate concern is to undo the payment rate cut and provide retroactive payments to doctors before even more of them start refusing to treat Medicare and TRICARE patients.  A letter from AUSA President Gen. Gordon R. Sullivan, USA, Ret., is going to House Democratic and Republican leaders today urging them to take action on this immediately.  I’m asking that you once again add your voice to his.  Go to the AUSA website,, click on “Contact Congress”, type in your zip code beside “Elected Officials”, and scroll down to “Vote YES on the Preservation of Access to Care for Medicare Beneficiaries and Pension Relief Act of 2010”.

AUSA’s leadership is dismayed by a report released last week by a task force formed to look at ways to cut defense spending.

The Sustainable Defense Task Force, formed under the auspices of Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., is proposing a $1.1 trillion reduction in defense spending over 10 years, including $628.5 billion in personnel-related programs.

An article in this week’s Army Times breaks down the Task Force’s recommendations.

They would:

* Reduce the Army from 547,000 active duty soldiers to about 360,000.

* Include full military pay and allowances – not just basic pay – in comparisons of military compensation and private-sector salaries.  The task force believes that including all aspects of pay – and the tax advantage of some tax-free allowances – could show that military compensation exceeds that of comparable private-sector workers and would result in smaller raises or maybe no raises at all.

* Increase out-of-pocket expenses for working-age military retirees enrolled in TRICARE by linking premiums for coverage to Medicare Part B premiums.  For TRICARE Prime, retirees under age 65 would pay about $38.56 a month for single retirees coverage, 40 percent of the Medicare Part B premium, with a premium of $77.12 for family coverage.  TRICARE Standard and Extra premiums would be $5.70 a month for single coverage, 15 percent of the Part B premium, and $11.40 for families.  Premiums would increase any time Social Security increases.

* Shave $1.2 billion off the $4 billion annual cost of recruiters and recruiting after cutting the size of the force and ending or reducing combat deployments.  Savings would come from having fewer recruiters, reduced administrative and advertising costs, and spending less on bonuses.

* Consolidate the separate commissary and exchange systems.  The savings would come mainly from eliminating the taxpayer subsidy for commissaries, which could increase prices by requiring a bigger markup or surcharge on grocery items and other commissary products.

* Eliminate about 280,000 jobs in DoD’s civilian work force over 10 years, mostly by not replacing people who retire or leave for other work.  Retirements alone would account for much of the cut because more than 50 percent of current civilian workers will be eligible to retire before 2020.

At a press conference last week, Rep. Frank was joined by Reps. Walter Jones, R-N.C., Ron Paul, R-Texas and Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore.  The group released a copy of a letter they wrote to President Obama’s National Commission of Fiscal Responsibility of Reform urging that they take a serious look at the conclusions reached by the task force.

In his latest on-line message, AUSA President Gen. Gordon R. Sullivan, USA, Ret., said, “At a time when our military resources are engaged in fighting two wars, our service members are dying on battlefields around the world, and the pay gap is not yet closed, attempts to trim budget shortfalls at the expense of military pay and benefits would appear to be tremendously misguided.  Imagine the impact on morale that almost flat paychecks would have on soldiers driving on explosives-lined roads in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Budget corrections should not come from military personnel accounts and benefits.  Soldiers count – and to maintain high recruiting and retention rates, we must not cut quality of life benefits.  We owe it to our brave service members who are in harm’s way, not to use their pay and benefits for budget-cutting target practice.”

“We begin to have to do stupid things if the supplemental isn’t passed by July Fourth,” Defense Secretary Robert Gates told the Senate Appropriations Committee at a hearing last week.

The Senate approved the department’s $33 billion request to pay for continued military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. The House has yet to act.  If there are any differences in the bills, they would have to be resolved in a conference committee and returned to both chambers for final action.

“We will turn to O & M [operations and maintenance] money” to pay for the Navy and the Marine Corps.  “The Army comes a little later.”  At that time, the Army “would have to furlough civilians and not pay” soldiers, said Gates.

House leaders said they are “optimistic” that the war supplemental spending bill can be moved this week.  However, it depends on whether or not House Appropriations Committee Chairman David R. Obey, D-Wis., can find acceptable cuts from already enacted spending to offset the cost of a provision in the bill that would send aid to states in order to prevent teacher layoffs.  Obey has proposed an $84 billion version including $23 billion for schools and $1.7 billion to retain and hire police officers and firefighters — spending he said would have the added benefit of boosting local economies.

AUSA President Gen. Gordon R. Sullivan, USA, Ret., urged key lawmakers to pass the spending bill before the July 4 recess.  “In a time of war, expeditious completion of defense legislation is absolutely essential.  Our Army in the field needs timely access to appropriate funding,” he said.

A Deadly Bubble!!

[Click the purple colored headline to launch the video.]

A deadly bubble?

A cloud of death followed by tsunami…

Here’s what accompanies the video:

Coast To Coast AM with George Noory

According to Richard C. Hoagland, insider sources in BP and in U.S. Government say that there is a Gas Bubble 15-20 Miles across 10+ feet high near BP’s oil well head in Gulf of Mexico. It may cause an explosion with Apocalyptic proportions in weeks or months. The pressure at the well is 100.000 PSI and when the Gas explodes it will be like Mt. St. Helens going off underwater. It will create a Cloud of Death and a Tsunami Wave traveling at 400-600 MPH sinking all Vessels around the area as well as drive all hazardous materials including the Oil inland. More.

Class Action Suit Against Obamacare

We want to stop Obamacare and we want to stop it now. That is why I’ve decided to file a motion for preliminary injunction and serve it along with our amended complaint. A motion for preliminary injunction is a request that a court order be issued at the beginning of a case. Such orders prevent one party from acting while the case is being heard. Our motion will be requesting that the court prevent the Federal government from enforcing any aspect of Obamacare, while our case is pending. These types of orders are typically used to prevent one party from being harmed by the other party while the case is being heard. Federal cases can take years to be resolved, so a large amount of harm can be done while you’re waiting for the court to act. That is certainly the case here.

To get such an injunction granted we must prove that 1) We will be irreparably harmed without the order; 2) we are likely to win our case; and 3) that the public will be better served by granting the order than by denying it. With strong legal reasoning and overwhelming public opposition to the government takeover of our health care, our case meets all three of these factors and supports granting a preliminary injunction.

Such motions are sometimes denied, especially when the party requesting the injunction is also arguing that well-established precedent should be overturned. However, the logic of our arguments cannot be ignored. It really boils down to whether or not we get a judge that has the guts to uphold the clear meaning of the Constitution instead of bowing to politically motivated precedent from 70+ years ago. It comes down to whether or not we get a Judge that upholds his oath of office.

Also, such a motion allows us to make our arguments in a way that grabs the attention of the government, the media, and the American people. We will be raising our voices again and making it known that we intend to win. We will not quietly sit by while dozens of new agencies are created to take away our freedom, while the IRS is empowered to become even more invasive of our privacy, nor while the the government continues to ignore the true reforms that are needed in health care.

This motion for preliminary injunction has the potential to stop Obamacare in its tracks. It will be filed in conjunction with the amended complaint that adds you and the more than 32,000 of your fellow Americans that have joined to date. Let’s make a much stronger statement to the court and make that number more than 100,000! Please tell everyone you know about our effort to take back our government. Please encourage them to join us. Even if you’ve told them before, please tell them again. Most people need to hear about something at least three times before they act. If we have 100,000 plaintiffs the Judge we will be more likely to follow his Oath and grant the injunction. Let’s make this happen!

Is The Obama Administration Setting Us Up For A Disaster of Enormous Porportion??

If this is correct,Corexit, the Toxic Dispersant used by BP….will evaporate into clouds that will dispense Toxic Rain.

How do we prepare for this?  Eastern United States is the path of the wind pattern…

“Reports are also coming from the United States that their government is secretly preparing to evacuate tens-of-millions of their citizens from their Gulf of Mexico States should the most dire of these scientific warnings start to come true.”

Critics have bashed President Obama for being slow to seize the political initiative in combating the BP oil spill in the Gulf Coast, now widely believed to be the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history. The White House has battled back, releasing a timeline of events showing that Obama was briefed—and deploying the Coast Guard—within 24 hours of the Deepwater Horizon blowout.

What has not been previously disclosed: The president was not only briefed on the real-time events of the spill, but also on just how bad it would be—and how hard it would be to plug the hole.

Carol Browner, director of the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy, told Obama at one of the earliest briefings in late April that the blowout would likely lead to an unprecedented environmental disaster, senior White House aides told The Daily Beast. Browner warned that capping a well at such depths had never been done before, and that they ought to expect an oil spill that would continue until a relief well was drilled in August, the aide said.

That early briefing on the scope of the spill—and enormous technical challenges involved in fixing it—might help explain the sense of fatalism that has infused Obama’s team from the start.

Publishing this at 8:46 PM on a Friday night, when it is least likely to be noticed, Richard Wollfe sends out a trial balloon, to see if it will float some sympathy toward the White House: Hey, America, Obama knew it was going to be really bad, and there was nothing he could actually do about that, so he did nothing about anything.

Hey, America, I knew it was hopeless, and I couldn’t change anything, so I couldn’t see the point of accepting the help of 17 nations offering their technology and their expertise in attempting to contain the damage as much as possible; no point in even attempting to use supertankers to try to remove as much oil from the surface as possible, even if they have to do it for months.

Hey, America, I knew it was bad, so there was no sense in telling you anything, or in helping Governor Jindal try to protect the marshlands and coasts of Louisiana.

President Obama surely cannot be blamed
for (or personally do anything about) “the damn hole,” that–even “capped”– is still gushing oil into (and beyond) the Gulf of Mexico, and that’s why reasonable people have not been the ones insisting that the president play superhero, or display reassuring “concern” by doing a public freak-out. In a crisis, you want the president to be calm and collected.

But Obama just as surely could have informed the nation that we were facing a long-term assault on our environment that would have wide repercussions.

He could have put his legendary oratorical skills to work, communicating an appreciation of the gravity of the situation, and an assurance that everything that could possibly be done to protect the environment was being done.

That was his fundamental job as president: clear communication of the struggle ahead, and reassurance that all possible efforts at collection and containment were operational. That is what he could have done, and did not; six weeks into it, he still has not really managed it.

We’ve just spent years listening to ungenerous, miserable people excoriate President Bush for calmly taking 7 minutes, after learning of the attacks of 9/11, to allow his Secret Service to do their thing and to–with a great deal of composure–take his leave from a classroom without managing to scare the children or give an impression of fear that would be put before the nation and the world.

After watching President Obama take six weeks to process the terrible news he was given–pressing forward with golf, vacations, parties and fund-raisers in order to not scare the nation–even if that it meant he seemed a little disengaged from the BP Oil disaster, I never want to hear another sneering, idiotic My Pet Goat joke, again.

A president needs to be calm and deliberate in the face of crisis, and he even needs to say puzzling things like “go on vacation, go shopping” or “go to the beaches” when it is clear the crisis has precipitated a long, hard slog.

But he also needs to promptly stand on a pile of rubble with the firefighters, or in a marsh full of dead wildlife and and a slick, red tide, and say, “we’re going to respond; we’re going to protect and we’re going to rebuild and restore. We are going to get through this long hard slog, together.”

And he has to be able to convince people that he means every word he has said.

Wolffe writes:

“. . .Obama’s team is focusing on the options at their immediate disposal—methods of news management and presidential communication.”

There will be a slow but continual drip
of bad-to-worse news about this issue, coming out of the White House. President Obama needs to shake off the fatalism and show the nation that he is willing to try things, fight back against the rising tide of suffocating red death.

The president who rose to office riding the notion of hope cannot be the guy who meanders around, wishing things were not so damned hopeless.

Allahpundit: “. . . if he really did know right away that this was the oil equivalent of an asteroid strike, he didn’t scramble some sort of all-hands-on-deck emergency operation to protect the coastline. Remember, Jindal reportedly requested five million feet of hard boom back on May 2, long after Obama (according to Wolffe) knew about the magnitude of the disaster. By May 24, not even 800,000 feet had arrived. What happened?”

Kim Priestap says the Obama administration’s “fatalism” looks like “gross negligence”:

He could have ordered the mobilization of as much of the government’s resources as possible and put out an SOS to private companies and organizations with expertise in disaster clean up to try to prevent the oil slick from entering the gulf’s coastal waters. With the advanced notice that he was given, he could have had them ready and waiting.

But he didn’t do anything.

Instapundit and reader note Obama’s weak responses to any disasters that don’t affect a Democrat-majority. And Moe Lane has the chart to prove it.
